Welcome Baby

Let me first clarify, I'm not having a baby! Mom, calm down! LOL. I just thought this was a cute card to make and I have a few friends at work who are expecting, so I decided to make it. I use the All in the Family stamp set, which you will literally be able to mix and match heads and bodies to make a thousand (ok, maybe a slight over exaggeration) different kids and adults to fit your needs! Words of wisdom though, get yourself a Stamp-a-ma-jig so you can make sure you are putting the "heads" of your people on correctly. It took me three tries to get this baby to look right! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Supplies:
Paper: Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White, SAB Delicate Dots DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Certainly Celery
Stamps: All in the family, Warm Words
Accessories: Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch

Dang it, not AGAIN???

At least that is what I hope you *ARE NOT* saying about this card. Yes, I know, it's 3 cards with the same stamp set in a row. But look at it this way, if you have this set, or wanted to purchase it (which you can do by emailing me), you will have at least 3 ideas for future cards! See I really do care about all of my cyber pals!

I will have a different card for you tomorrow, I promise!

Supplies:

Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and more of that DSP that I can't remember the name of...

Ink:Kiwi Kiss, Tango Tangerine

Stamps: Fifth Ave Floral, I don't know what set the "Thanks" is from. This happens when I don't put my stamps back with their mates, and leave them loose on my desk...(((sigh)))

Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon, white brads, scallop circle punch, and circle punches

I've added a CBox on my blog, so should any of you have any questions you want me to answer, feel free to leave them there! I'll answer them ASAP!

Fifth Avenue Floral

I just *had* to have this set from the new catalog. That's the worst (if there is a worst) thing about loving Stampin' Up as much as I do, I just *feel* the need to own each and every new stamp set that comes out in the new catalogs. Now, this isn't good business ( Thanks John from SIMB) for setting me on the right course! I will have to buy less stamp sets each year, but my business will become profitable where it only helped support my *habit* before! So this is one of the sets that I will be demonstrating with frequently until it retires! And of course, I'm totally in love with the Big Shot and Butterfly dies! This card uses the current In colors, I will be sad to see these go! Hope you had a great Easter!

Supplies:
Paper: Tango Tangerine, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Ink: Tango Tangerine, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White Craft Ink
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Buttons, Butterfly Sizzix Die, Clear Rhinestone Brad, White Embossing Powder

Tutorial Thursday-Watercoloring

Welcome to Tutorial Thursday! I'm going to be bringing you a new tutorial each and every Thursday. This week's episode is devoted to Watercoloring with Stampin' Up inks and watercolor paper. Let's get started

I have decided to watercolor the great rose image from Fifth Avenue Floral using Riding Hood Red ink, watercolor paper and my aqua painter.

I have used Memento Tuxedo Black ink, however you can also use Black Stazon to stamp your image onto watercolor paper.
If you squeeze your ink pad, you will have some ink transfer onto the top of your ink pad. Using the aqua painter, squeeze a little water into the ink to make a puddle of ink and water.

I used the aqua painter to outline the black lines of the flower with the Riding Hood Red ink.

I finished by filling in the rest of the flower, blending the lines with the ink. Let the flower dry before cutting out.
Finish assembling card, add embellishments and you have a beautiful watercolored masterpiece! Hope you enjoyed. If you would like to see a certain tutorial next week, leave me a comment and I will choose one to showcase next!

Build-A-Brad Bracelet

I'm back...did you miss me? Where does the time go? Seems like the weeks just fill up with activities and the weekends are just a blur? Does this happen to you too?

I have been working on my calendar for April and have some cool classes and stampin' nights in store. I am doing a Build-A-Brad Bracelet class in early April and couldn't wait to buy the stuff to start playing. Here is a photo of my first bracelet? What do you think? I used the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper and some heart charms from Michael's. I can't wait for this class so I can see what else everyone else comes up with.
I'm offering kits for $15 for those who can't take the class. I'll be back with more information!
What Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up do you think would make a cute bracelet?

Good Times

Ok, so I made it one day without using rub ons, that's good right??? Really though, these things make super quick cards. Can you say "Instant Gratification"?
Today's Card is for the Limited Supplies Challenge at SCS. Here's what I did.
1. Cut Whisper White cardstock to 10X5, folded in half to make a 5x5 card (love this size)
2. Mounted a 4 6/8th X 4 6/8th piece of Old Olive on front and on the inside of card.
3. Applied White Rub Ons at bottom of outside piece, applied small rub on to inside of card.
4. Mounted a 4 5/8th x 2 3/8th piece of Old Olive to a 4 3/4 x 2 1/2 piece of Whisper White.
5. Apply Rub on to focal piece, mount to front of card.
6. Attach brads to Flower Fusion and use Mini glue dots to adhere to card.
Pretty easy huh?

Here is a shot of the inside, I'm getting to where I like to add another sheet of Cardstock to the insides of my cards and add a little something to give it something extra. What do you think?

One Snazzy Chic

Step away from the rub ons!! Step away from the rub ons!! If I just keep repeating that montra maybe I will leave them alone for a little while!! Nothing wrong with being a little obsessed with a product right? RIGHT???

Today's Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS is to use stripes. Easy Peasy!! I have the perfect card to share, has not one but two types of striped Designer Series Paper. *Wondering if I get a prize for TWO types of stripes?*

I just love this little chick! I decided to "bling" her up with some Rhinestone brads and a snazzy shell of blue ultrafine cosmo glitter from SU! This is her "evening" look, should she need to dress more conservatevly, we could have paper pieced her shell with a matching DSP for a more "daytime" look!

Hope everyone is Blog Land is doing well, I'm off to get some rest before going to the movies tonight!!

Supplies Used:

Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Summer Fun DSP

Stamps: A Good Egg

Ink: Black Stazon

Accessories: Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (love these things), Rhinestone Brads, Ultra Fine Glitter

Still using Rub ons?

Yes, I just can't stop making cards with these rub ons!! And now I'm readdicted to the Flower Fusion felt pieces from Stampin' Up! I have the first set of colors, and now I'm going to have to order the other color choices as well. I just *have* to.

Today's card is for the Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Literally this was a less than 5 minute card with these rub ons. This particular set is retired, however, we have many more to choose from and you can really make 10-20-30 cards easy with the variety that comes in the packages.
Ok, now you want some rub ons of your own right??? Well, you can visit my SU Website to do some online ordering (remembering to yourself that it's Sale-A-Bration and if you spend $50, you get a free stamp set or other cool choices they just came out with) or you can leave me a comment and I will pick a lucky winner and send you a pack of these retired rub ons from last years Sale-A-Bration!!

Supplies:

Paper: Basic Black, More Mustard

Accessories: Love and Happiness Rub ons, Flower Fusions

Look Ma, no stamps!

Good Friday Evening! I just *had* to play in todays SCS Limited Supplies Challenge. The challenge was to "stretch" out of your comfort zone, not once, but TWICE!! YIKES!!!

However, I was able to come up with a card that took me far from what I normally do. Yes, you are actually looking at a card with NO STAMPING!
Oh, the horrors! Ok, it wasn't that bad, and I can mass produce like kids in a sweatshop! I'm thinking of making some more no stamped cards this weekend! Hope your night is well!

My First Sketch Challenge - CPA1

To participate in the challenge and be entered in the drawing for the blog candy, make a card with this layout and upload it either to your blog, or to an online gallery.
If you upload your card on SCS, put CPA1 (NO SPACE INBETWEEN CPA AND 1) in the keyword section. That way we can look at all of them at once!
Post a link to your card to this blog entry as a comment. Please add your entry# to it.
I will determine the winner with Random.org on Sunday at 10:00 p.m. EST

Cheep Talk Take Two

Here is today's card for the "Ways to use it" challenge in Splitcoaststampers. Today's challenge was to use fabric (EEEK!) I can't see myself cutting up any clothing just to make a card, I'm not that finatical yet, so I opted for felt fusions flowers from Stampin' Up. That can be called fabric right??? Ok, maybe...
Anyway, this was another quick card, but super cute. I love all of the colors and dimension! Hope you like it too!
Supplies Used:

Paper : Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White

Ink: Close to Cocoa, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Tango Tangerine

Accessories: Dimensionals, Felt Flower Fusion, Yellow Brads

Cheep Talk

Got a couple of things to share with you tonight! Here is my card for today's Color Challenge from Splitcoaststampers. Today's Colors were Pink Piroutte, Perfect Plum and Kiwi Kiss. Not exactly the most challenging card, but it was quick. You will see why I didn't have that much time to create anything tonight....in just a minute. But first things first...

I know, kinda simple, but sometime you just have to make a simple card! I love the little added heart above the two birds, kinda turns them into "love birds"!

So, you want to know what my ribbon collections looked like before I discovered Ribbon Rings? Take a look...

And after.... WOO HOO, it's a storage MIRACLE!!! I ran out of tags, so I'm off to order more, but first, let's draw last night's BLOG CANDY winner....drum roll please!!!!

Jennifer Talley said...
Wow, this is so cute! I love it! As for my hubby and I, he is not really the romantic type, so we usually just have a quiet evening at home after the kids go to bed enjoying each other's company - which is hard to come by these days with the too little ones!

Jennifer, send me your snail mail address and I will get a ribbon sampler out to you right away...keeping with today's theme and all!

What is the most romantic gesture you've had happen to you, or you did for someone else, to make Valentine's Day rock? Leave me a comment and I will choose a random winner for some free blog candy!
